MSC Divina Review

Our very first MSC voyage was on the Divina. At first we were unsure about MSC since they were still so new in America but you cannot beat the prices. Some of the cruises with the drink package included were cheaper than Royal’s prices without. So a group of 6 of us packed our bags and it was all aboard on July 17, 2022.

Pool Deck

The pool deck on the MSC Divina was a highlight of our cruise experience. We enjoyed the speciousness and variety. We particularly enjoyed the central pool, which featured a zero-depth areaβ€”perfect for lounging in the sun while staying cool. The proximity of the hot tubs to the main action was another plus; we could relax in the warm bubbles while enjoying the entertainment during sea days. However, we were disappointed to learn that drinks, including water, were not permitted in the pool area, a restriction not found on some other cruise lines.

We enjoyed the open air parties that were hosted on the pool deck at night with special themes like white night where everyone dressed in white.

Water Slide

The waterslide on the MSC Divina was a fun addition to the ship, perfect for a quick thrill in between lounging by the pool. Located on Deck 16, it starts from an elevated platform and winds its way down in a twisting, enclosed tube before splashing into a small landing area. While it’s not the biggest or most extreme slide at sea, it added a bit of excitement to our pool days, especially for kids and those looking for a playful break from sunbathing.

Infinity Pool & the Aft

The aft of the MSC Divina quickly became our favorite spot on the ship, thanks to the stunning Infinity Pool and its unobstructed ocean views. There was something truly magical about floating in the water while gazing out at the endless horizon, feeling completely immersed in the beauty of the open sea. The atmosphere here was much more peaceful than the main pool, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.

As the day wound down, we found ourselves drawn back to the aft to watch the sunset paint the sky. Conveniently, there were bars nearby, so we could easily grab a cocktail or a refreshing drink without leaving the serene setting.

Main Dining Room

Dining in the main dining room on the MSC Divina was a fantastic experience that exceeded our expectations. We loved the variety of choices on the menu, with a great mix of rotating options alongside some set favorites available every night. Having My Time Dining was a huge plus, as it allowed us the flexibility to eat on our schedule without feeling rushed. One of the highlights was the sommelier, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect wines to pair with our meals. But what truly made our dining experience unforgettable was the amazing waitstaffβ€”they weren’t just attentive, they made every meal fun and special. From their friendly conversations to the intricate paper flowers and napkin creations they surprised us with, they went above and beyond to make each dinner a memorable part of our cruise.

The Buffet

The buffet on the MSC Divina was our go-to spot for breakfast and lunch, and it did not disappoint. Mornings were especially peacefulβ€”we loved taking our food out to the pool deck, where we could sip a mimosa and enjoy the sea breeze with barely anyone else around. It was the perfect way to start the day. The highlight of the buffet, though, had to be the pizzaβ€”made fresh throughout the day, with a variety of options that always hit the spot. Another thing we loved was that the buffet stayed open late, offering delicious bites after a night of drinking and dancingβ€”something that set MSC apart from other cruise lines. Whether grabbing a quick lunch or indulging in a midnight snack, the buffet was always a reliable, clean and satisfying choice.

The Atrium

The atrium on the MSC Divina is absolutely stunning, with its elegant design and striking crystal staircases that make for perfect photo opportunities. It’s a lively and vibrant hub of the ship, where we loved watching the live entertainment and dancing. Walking through the atrium was always exciting and full of energy, and the Divina Bar located right there made it easy to grab a drink while soaking in the atmosphere. Whether you’re there for the performances or simply to take in the beauty of the space, the atrium is a must-see spot on the ship.

Pantheon Theatre

The Pantheon Theatre on the MSC Divina was a highlight of our cruise experience. It’s a great size for a ship, offering plenty of seating while maintaining an intimate feel. As a family that appreciates good theatre, we were impressed with the quality of the performances, which were top-notch. We also loved the convenience of grabbing a drink at the bar right inside the theatre, allowing us to unwind before catching a show. It was the perfect way to kick off our evening before heading to dinner.

Casino

We had a great time at the Casino on the MSC Divina! It was a fun and lively place to spend some time, with a good mix of games like slot machines, blackjack, and poker. The atmosphere was exciting, and I loved the energy in the air as people tried their luck. Whether you’re an experienced player or just want to enjoy the thrill, the casino is a great spot to relax and have a bit of fun during your cruise.

Galaxy Lounge

The Galaxy Lounge on the MSC Divina was such a fun spot to hang out at night. It was the perfect place to grab a drink and dance, with a great mix of popular songs that kept the energy high. I loved that it wasn’t too crowded, so there was plenty of space to enjoy the music. The best part was the viewβ€”since the lounge is up high on the ship, you could look out and see the entire pool deck below. It made for a great atmosphere, and I really enjoyed spending time there!

Ocean Cay – Private Island

Our time at Ocean Cay was unforgettable! We were lucky enough to spend two full days there, with an overnight on the island. The island itself was absolutely stunningβ€”some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen and the sand was so soft and white. While all the beaches were beautiful, Lighthouse Beach stood out as our favorite. The water was calm and perfect for relaxing, and there was plenty of shade and space to lounge. Plus, it was conveniently close to the Beach Bar and Snack Bar, which made it easy to grab a drink or bite to eat. It was such a special experience to see the lighthouse and the ship in the distance while we relaxed by the water.

At night, Ocean Cay really came to life with a fantastic beach party and later, light shows projected onto the lighthouse. It was such a unique and fun experience! Since the island is still relatively new compared to other cruise lines’ private islands, there’s definitely room for growth. One thing I noticed is that it could use some pools to complement the beach experience. Despite that, I’m really excited to see how the island develops in the futureβ€”there’s so much potential, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with it!

Nassau Bahamas Port Day

Our port day in Nassau, Bahamas was a mix of exploration and relaxation. We started by walking around the town, admiring the vibrant, brightly colored housesβ€”such a beautiful and lively sight. We shopped for souvenirs in the famous Nassau straw market. Afterward, we headed to Junkanoo Beach, which was just a short walk from the port. The beach itself was gorgeous, with white sand and turquoise water, but it was very crowded and rowdy with locals. There were lots of people trying to sell us things, which was a bit overwhelming. I did enjoy getting a margarita in a coconut, thoughβ€”it was a fun touch! We managed to find some peace by walking to the far end of the beach, where it was less crowded. Next time I visit Nassau, I’ll definitely consider exploring another beach for a quieter experience.
