Our home base during our time on the Amalfi Coast was the charming town of Positano, where pastel-colored buildings seemed to tumble down the cliffs toward the sparkling sea. From there, we ventured out on day trips to explore the nearby coastal gems. One of the highlights was taking the ferry to the stunning island of Capri. The journey was smooth and scenic, and before we knew it, we were pulling into the vibrant main port, lined with charming restaurants and boutique shops. The energy of Capri was infectious, and we couldn’t wait to dive into its beauty and elegance.
From the port, we hopped on a small bus that wound its way up the steep, scenic roads toward the Gardens of Augustus. The ride itself was an adventure, offering glimpses of Capri’s stunning coastline. Once we reached Belvedere, we treated ourselves to a delicious Caprese panini from Bar Funicolare, packed with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. As we savored each bite, we were rewarded with an unforgettable view—a sweeping panorama of the shimmering sea and dramatic cliffs. It was the perfect blend of Capri’s flavors and breathtaking scenery.
As we began our walk toward the Gardens of Augustus, we stumbled upon the cutest little ice cream stand that we simply couldn’t resist. It was called Tizzano’s Kiosk. They served lemon sorbet inside giant Amalfi lemons, and it was as refreshing as it was picturesque. The bright, zesty flavor perfectly captured the essence of Capri, making it the ideal treat to enjoy as we continued our stroll through this beautiful island paradise.
The Gardens of Augustus were absolutely stunning, and we felt so lucky to visit on such a perfect day. As we wandered through the vibrant blooms and lush greenery, the beauty of Capri unfolded around us. We made our way to the Via Krupp Terrace, where we were greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the iconic Faraglioni rock formationsrising dramatically from the sea. Below us, the winding path of Via Krupp snaked its way along the cliffs, creating a picture-perfect scene we’ll never forget.
We decided to make our way down the winding Via Krupp path, and I have to say, I was grateful to be walking down instead of up! The path twisted and turned along the rugged cliffs, offering absolutely breathtaking views with every step. The sparkling blue water below and the dramatic coastline made the descent feel like something out of a dream. It was the kind of walk where you had to stop frequently—not because you were tired, but because the scenery demanded it.
Our walk along the coast led us to the iconic Bagni International Beach Club, a picture-perfect spot lined with colorful striped umbrellas. The scene was straight out of a postcard—people swimming in the turquoise waters, with the Faraglioni rock formations standing proudly in the background. We couldn’t resist stopping for lunch at the beachside restaurant, where every bite felt like a celebration of Capri’s flavors. We indulged in freshly baked bread, an incredible pasta dish, and a Caprese salad crowned with a giant, velvety burrata, drizzled with the most delicious olive oil. Naturally, I paired it with a Limoncello Spritz—because when in Capri, how could you not? I wish we could have lingered there all afternoon, but it was time to head back to the port for our much-anticipated boat tour.
We hopped into an open-air taxi back to the main port, enjoying the warm breeze and scenic views along the way. The intimate small-group experience lasted about two hours, which was just the right amount of time to explore Capri’s breathtaking coastline. We stopped by some of the island’s most famous spots, ventured into mystical sea caves, and even paused for a refreshing swim. As we sipped on drinks, we cruised right through the Faraglioni rock formations, including the enchanting Arco Naturale, or the Arch of Love, which made for an unforgettable moment.
