Exploring Capri: A Day Trip from Positano

Our home base during our time on theย Amalfi Coastย was the charming town ofย Positano, where pastel-colored buildings seemed to tumble down the cliffs toward the sparkling sea. From there, we ventured out on day trips to explore the nearby coastal gems. One of the highlights was taking theย ferry to the stunning island of Capri. The journey was smooth and scenic, and before we knew it, we were pulling into theย vibrant main port, lined with charmingย restaurants and boutique shops. The energy of Capri was infectious, and we couldn’t wait to dive into its beauty and elegance.

From the port, we hopped on aย small bus that wound its way up the steep, scenic roadsย toward theย Gardens of Augustus. The ride itself was an adventure, offering glimpses of Capriโ€™s stunning coastline. Once we reachedย Belvedere, we treated ourselves to a deliciousย Caprese panini from Bar Funicolare, packed with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. As we savored each bite, we were rewarded with anย unforgettable viewโ€”a sweeping panorama ofย the shimmering sea and dramatic cliffs. It was the perfect blend ofย Capriโ€™s flavors and breathtaking scenery.

As we began our walk toward theย Gardens of Augustus, we stumbled upon theย cutest little ice cream standย that we simply couldn’t resist. It was called Tizzano’s Kiosk. They servedย lemon sorbet inside giant Amalfi lemons, and it was as refreshing as it was picturesque. The bright, zesty flavor perfectly captured the essence of Capri, making it the ideal treat to enjoy as we continued our stroll through this beautiful island paradise.

Theย Gardens of Augustusย were absolutely stunning, and we felt so lucky to visit on such a perfect day. As we wandered through the vibrant blooms and lush greenery, the beauty of Capri unfolded around us. We made our way to theย Via Krupp Terrace, where we were greeted withย breathtaking panoramic viewsย of the iconicย Faraglioni rock formationsrising dramatically from the sea. Below us, theย winding path of Via Kruppย snaked its way along the cliffs, creating a picture-perfect scene weโ€™ll never forget.

We decided to make our way down theย winding Via Krupp path, and I have to say, I wasย grateful to be walking down instead of up! The path twisted and turned along the rugged cliffs, offeringย absolutely breathtaking viewsย with every step. Theย sparkling blue water belowย and the dramatic coastline made the descent feel like something out of a dream. It was the kind of walk where you had to stop frequentlyโ€”not because you were tired, but because the scenery demanded it.

Our walk along the coast led us to the iconicย Bagni International Beach Club, a picture-perfect spot lined withย colorful striped umbrellas. The scene was straight out of a postcardโ€”people swimming in theย turquoise waters, with theย Faraglioni rock formationsย standing proudly in the background. We couldn’t resist stopping for lunch at theย beachside restaurant, where every bite felt like a celebration of Capri’s flavors. We indulged inย freshly baked bread, anย incredible pasta dish, and aย Caprese salad crowned with a giant, velvety burrata, drizzled with the most delicious olive oil. Naturally, I paired it with aย Limoncello Spritzโ€”because when in Capri, how could you not? I wish we could have lingered there all afternoon, but it was time to head back to the port for ourย much-anticipated boat tour.

We hopped into anย open-air taxiย back to the main port, enjoying the warm breeze and scenic views along the way. Once there, we checked in for our boat tour, which we had booked throughย Get Your Guideโ€”theย Marina Grande: Capri Guided Boat Tour with Limoncello. The intimateย small-group experienceย lasted aboutย two hours, which was just the right amount of time to explore Capri’s breathtaking coastline. We stopped by some of the island’sย most famous spots, ventured intoย mystical sea caves, and even paused for a refreshing swim. As we sipped on drinks, we cruised right through theย Faraglioni rock formations, including the enchantingย Arco Naturale, or the Arch of Love, which made for an unforgettable moment.
