Day Trip to Amalfi

Our home base during our time in the Amalfi Coast was in Positano and we took day trips to the nearby towns along the coast. The ferry from Positano is easy and affordable and dropped us off right at the main pier.

Amalfi Lemon Experience

The Amalfi Lemon Experience was one of the highlights of our time on the Amalfi Coastβ€”a perfect mix of history, nature, and, of course, incredible flavors. As we wandered through the terraced lemon groves, we were surrounded by the intoxicating scent of lemons, their bright yellow fruit hanging overhead, creating the most picture-perfect setting. Naturally, we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos beneath the canopy of citrus. Our guide shared fascinating insights about the history and cultivation of these famous lemons, and as we toured the grounds, we took in the sheer beauty of the landscapeβ€”rolling green hills, stunning coastal views, and rows of vibrant lemon trees. The best part? The tastings! We indulged in homemade lemon cake, sipped on freshly squeezed lemonade, and, of course, tried the region’s famous limoncello. Every bite and sip was bursting with fresh, zesty flavor, making the experience even more memorable. If you’re visiting Amalfi, this tour is a mustβ€”it’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the flavors and traditions of the region while soaking in its breathtaking beauty.

Duomo di Amalfi

Visiting the Duomo di Amalfi was an unforgettable experience. As I approached the cathedral, I was immediately struck by its breathtaking faΓ§adeβ€”an intricate blend of Moorish, Gothic, and Baroque influences that made it stand out against the vibrant Amalfi backdrop. The grand staircase leading up to the entrance added to its dramatic presence, making the moment feel even more special as I climbed each step. Standing at the top, I took a moment to admire the stunning detailsβ€”the ornate arches, the striking mosaic of Saint Andrew, and the towering bell tower that framed the sky above. Inside, the beauty continued with its soaring ceilings, golden accents, and peaceful cloister, all adding to the cathedral’s sense of history and grandeur. It was a place that truly captured the essence of Amalfiβ€”rich in culture, beauty, and timeless charm.

Dine at Pizzeria Donna Stella

Dining at Pizzeria Donna Stella was an absolute dream and one of my favorite meals in Amalfi. We sat out on the charming patio, surrounded by lush lemon trees with bright yellow lemons hanging overhead, creating the most magical and authentic setting. The food was just as incredible as the atmosphere. We started with arancini, perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with rich, savory goodness. Then came the highlight of the mealβ€”the lemon ravioli in a creamy lemon sauceβ€”hands down the best I’ve ever had. The balance of citrusy brightness and velvety cream was perfection in every bite. To top it all off, we indulged in lemon zeppole, a light and fluffy dessert that was the perfect sweet finish to an unforgettable meal. Between the incredible flavors, the stunning surroundings, and the warm hospitality, dining at Pizzeria Donna Stella felt like a true Amalfi experienceβ€”one I’d happily relive again and again.

Stroll along the beachside promenade

Strolling along the beachside promenade in Amalfi was the perfect way to soak in the town’s coastal charm. The fresh sea breeze, the sound of waves lapping against the shore, and the endless stretch of colorful beach loungers and umbrellas created the most picturesque scene. We took our time, admiring the deep blue of the Mediterranean, watching boats come and go from the harbor, and enjoying the lively energy of the waterfront. Along the promenade, charming cafΓ©s and shops lined the way, offering everything from fresh gelato to handcrafted ceramics.
